092 The 1st Orientation and Enrolment of the UNE Bachelor Program in Sydney were held on 18th and 19th Feb 2008. Prof Brian Gibson, Ms Bronwyn Gilson, the International Services Manger, Ms Carmel Velleley, Senior Officer of Enrolment & Progression, from UNE specially cam to Top hosting the Orientation and Enrolment.

091 The 1st SMIPA class of Top Education commenced on 16th Feb 2008. The 1st cohort of SMIPA participants include the graduates in Accounting study from Sydney University, Macquarie, Wollongong and other universities.

090 The 1st Joint Implementation and Management Committee meeting between UNE and Top was held on 13th Feb 2008 in Sydney. Mr. Lindsay Yates, Director of International  and Pathway Programs of UNE, chaired the meeting.

071 On 8th Oct 2008, Dr Minshen Zhu participated in the inaugural dinner of the Board Confucius Institute of the University of Sydney. The dinner was attended by His Excellency Junsai Zhang, the Chinese Ambassador to Australia.

070 Dr Minshen Zhu was appointed as a Board Member of the Confucius Institute of the University of Sydney, which was officially launched on 17th June 2008.

069 In May 2008, Top Education Group signed a long-term agreement with the University of New England (UNE). By the Agreement, UNE Bachelor and Master Programs will be conducted from Feb 2009 at Top as UNE International Academy Programs. The Chinese Ambassador to Australia His Excellency Junsai Zhang and his wife Madame Guomei Yin attend the signing ceremony of UNE-Top.

067 Dr Minshen Zhu, Principal of Top Education, began the action of “Any Cent Offered Represents Your Love - Donation for the Earthquake in Sichuan on 12th May” Up to Friday 16th May, many staff and students have donated funds for this natural disaster in China.

065 About 90 Top students participated in the welcoming event for the Olympic Torch Relay, which was sponsored by Top Education, on 24 th April 2008. The students departed from Sydney in the early morning and celebrated this gala festival in the Commonwealth Park in Canberra.

061 On 4th March 2008, Dr Minshen Zhu accompanied Prof Weiping Wang, Standing Vice President of Fudan Dan University, Prof Chouwen Zhu, Deputy Director of Fudan Foreign Affairs and Prof Yuanbao Gao of Department of Chinese Language and Literature to visit Sydney University meeting with Prof John Hearn, Deputy Vice-Chancellor (International) and other international officers and scholars.
 
060 On 21st Feb 2008, Dr Minshen Zhu participated in a panel discussion at the China Business Summit in Sydney. Dr Zhu strongly suggested lowering the risk assessment level for Chinese students in relation to their student visas in Australia, as China had already become the number one trading partner of Australia and the single largest source country of international students in Australia.
 
059 To celebrate Chinese New Year, Dr Minshen Zhu and other staff hosted a lunch on 7 th Feb 2008 at the Golden Century Restaurant in Chinatown with the Chinese students who are studying at Top over the New Year period.
 
058 On behalf of the Top Education Group, Dr Minshen Zhu made a donation through His Excellency Qiu Shaofang, the Chinese Consulate-General in Sydney (Ranking as Ambassador), and Consul Chen Haoqi, in aid of the victims of the current natural disaster in China.

054   The NSW Asia Business Dinner was held on 30 th Oct 2007 in honor of the NSW-Asia Business Council. The Hon Morris Iemma , Premier of NSW, attended the dinner as guest of honor and keynote speaker. As one of the founding members of the Council, Dr Minshen Zhu invited his guests including the Chinese senior diplomats, the senior executives of large-sized Chinese enterprises in Australia, representatives of the China Chamber of Commerce in Australia and those from the media sector. The photo shows Dr Zhu sitting with the Chinese Ambassador His Excellency Junsai Zhang and the Premier.
   
053 On 19 th Oct 2007, a delegation from China including Executive Director LI Youzeng and Vice Director Dr XIE Xinshui of the Beijing Teachers Training Centre for Higher Education; Prof LIU Xiaotian, Dean of the International Education College of Capital Normal University and her colleague Ms WANG Lihua, has visited our institute in the Australian Technology Park. Accompanied by Dr Zhu, they also visited the University of Sydney and Macquarie University.

The events were held at Lunar Park, Chinese Garden and NSW Parliament House.
   
047 The Consul-General of Indonesia in Sydney and the Chairman of the NSW Parliament Asia Pacific Friendship Group presented Dr Minshen with a Certificate of Commendation in appreciation of the charity donation from Top Education Group in aid of the victims of natural disaster in Indonesia.
   
046 Dr. Minshen Zhu was reappointed by the State Government of NSW as a Member of the NSW Asia Business Council. Dr Zhu is one of the founding members of the Council since 2000.

033 On 15th May 2007, the Hon. Mr. Henry Tsang OAM MLC, Parliamentary Secretary to the Premier and Assisting the Treasurer on Trade and Investment, presented the international students with his book. Mr. Tsang also delivered his speech on his own experience, study and career, in Australia.
   
032 On 27th April 2007, Dr Minshen Zhu accompanied His Excellency Mr Zhang Junsai, Chinese Ambassador to Australia, and his wife Madam Yin Guomei visiting Macquarie University hosted by Prof Steven Schwartz, Vice-Chancellor of Macquarie, Mrs Schwartz and Associate Prof William McGaw, Pro Vice-Chancellor (International). 028 Top Education Group was honored to sponsor the events of the Highlights of Chinese Calligraphy in Australia, which was organized by the China Calligraphy Association. The students of Top actively participated in the calligraphy events. Including the event of calligraphy exchange held on the 29th Dec 2006 at the Chinese Consulate-General in Sydney, where Top students received face-to-face supervision from the first-class calligraphers of China. During the exhibition at the Sydney Opera House, Dr Minshen Zhu, Principal of Top Education, was also conferred an honored award by the China Calligraphy Association for his contribution to Chinese calligraphy.

026 25th October, 2006, Dr Zhu, Principal of Top Education, organized a seminar with a group of 20 new students from Shandong, Hubei and Inner Mongolia of China, at which successful international students made presentations about their study and living experiences in Australia. 023 A gala dinner of "NSW-Asia Business" was held on 25th July at NSW Parliament House. The Hon. Iemma, Premier of NSW, the Hon. Henry Tsang, Chairman of the NSW Government's NSW-Asia Business Advisory Council and other Members of the Council attended the dinner hosted by the Asian diplomat and major business people in Sydney. Dr Minshen Zhu, as the only Member of the Council coming from mainland China engaged in the education sector, mingled with his VIP guests from the Chinese Consulate-General in Sydney and the China Chamber of Commerce in Australia at the function.

016 On 8th May, Dr Minshen Zhu signed a PhD Scholarship Agreement with Prof Steven Schwartz, Vice-Chancellor and President of Macquarie University, and Prof Shaode Qin, Chancellor of Fudan University. According to the Agreement, Top Education Group will jointly provide PhD scholarships to the students selected from Fudan University to study at Macquarie. Her Excellency Madam Ying Fu, Chinese Ambassador to Australia, is pleased to be the Patron of the Scholarship.
